Who We Are

We are one hundred and fifty of your neighbors who have joined to form RMBA, a single voice in River Market. We are property owners, business owners, residents and supporters.

What We Are

An organization that is ready, willing and able to accept challenges and to respond to them for the betterment of the community. We are truly dedicated to serving the interests of our members.

Why We Are

Our challenge is to turn the River Market into a community where people can work, live, shop, and play in safety and harmony. When neighbors come together, much more can and will be accomplished.

Our Mission Statement

  • To improve the image of the area.

  • To keep existing businesses in the area and bring in new ones.

  • To aggressively fight crime against persons, property and businesses.

  • To beautify the area by getting property owners to fix up the facades of their buildings and grounds.

  • To help the property owners obtain funds to improve the appearance of their buildings by establishing a revolving loan fund.

  • To study the current space requirements of the businesses in the area and their future needs, then fill those needs.

  • To help find tenants for buildings that are partially or totally vacant.

  • To encourage additional retail, residential and office conversions.

  • To improve signage throughout the area.

  • To serve as liaison between the property and business owners and the city, county and state administration. To speak as one voice.

  • To serve as liaison with City Market management, the resident component.

  • To maintain public service at a maximum level, including snow removal, street and sewer repair, and traffic.

Here is what the RMBA has done for the area:
